How We Got Here

I've always been curious — sitting, observing, noticing what's actually there before deciding what it means. That same curiosity is what took me into science in the first place. I spent years in scientific research, and later in the biotech industry, following questions until I actually understood how something worked. But somewhere in there I realized people were what I was most curious about — how people think, what they carry, what they're not saying yet.

Going through my own therapy showed me what I was drawn to. Sitting with someone. Reflecting. Exploring a person's story and their mind without rushing to fix or explain it. Being present while someone grieves something, or accepts something, or finds their way. Connection.

I named the practice Here We Are because that's the whole approach. Not "here's where you should be" or "here's who you should become" — just, here we are. Whoever is in the room, in whatever shape that takes, this is what's true right now, and we can work with that. No performance or perfection is required.

What we do

We offer individual and systems therapy — I say "systems" instead of "couples" on purpose, since the people who come to us aren't always two people in a traditional couple. We work with individuals, partners, and larger relationship systems — including LGBTQ+ clients, families & framilies, and multi-partnered relationships — however yours is shaped.

We also offer sex and relationship counseling as part of that work — not as a specialty credential, just as something we're comfortable with, trained in, and experienced talking through with clients who want to. Alongside that, we support people through grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and, more generally, life’s chaos.

Where we are

We see clients in person in Norman, which puts us in easy reach of the greater Oklahoma City area, and we offer telehealth across Oklahoma and Colorado for anyone who'd rather meet from home — or who doesn't live near the office.

Why I'm writing this

Mostly because I think you should know who you're getting when you reach out. Not a guru, not somebody with all this figured out from the other side of some finish line — just someone who got curious about people and never really stopped, and who built a practice that tries to make room for people exactly as they are when they walk in.

If you want to know more about who's behind this practice, our Meet Us page is a good next stop. Have more questions? Check out our FAQs.
